VeryNile is the first initiative to develop sustainable means to clean the Nile while raising awareness on the importance of protecting our environment. VeryNile interlaces social and environmental impact and develops eco-friendly solutions to remove inorganic waste from the river.
VeryNile is supported by: Drosos Foundation, One Earth One Ocean and the Ministry of Environment.
VeryNile acts on developing sustainable means to clean the Nile, on recycling and upcycling solid waste through partnerships with local stakeholders and on preventive level to decrease the usage of single use plastic and reduce water pollution.
We socially and financially empower local fishermen to become Ambassadors of the Nile.
With Mashrou El Saada, VeryNile is providing job opportunities to women from the local communities to produce recycled accessories.
We work with the local community of Qursaya and organize painting events and workshops for the youth.
VeryNile is developing solutions to develop a waste management system on Qursaya Island.
VeryNile has built a coalition of 150 partners that have stopped using plastic bags.
We partner with film and art festivals to raise awareness on protecting the environment.
