The Papyrus Revival Project
Once a vital plant for making paper, shoes, and baskets in ancient Egypt, papyrus disappeared from the Nile decades ago.
In partnership with local fishermen, The Papyrus Revival Project has successfully reintroduced 500 papyrus plants to the river, helping restore its natural ecosystem.
To give new value to the grown papyrus, VeryNile collaborates with Egyptian artist Mona El Kateb, transforming the plants into unique pieces of art.
